I started working with her about a little more than a year ago, after dealing with a whole host of health issues that had me in a place of struggling to function on a day-to-day basis. Prior to our first meeting, I was in so much discomfort and pain that I couldn't keep up with my kids, I was struggling with getting through workdays and I couldn’t exercise at all. I had been bouncing from one doctor to the next, in complete frustration with the lack of answers, support, knowledge, and the reality that I was not improving. I was also dealing with numerous side effects from high dosed prescribed medications. Dr Maura is an expert, by far the most intelligent and thorough doctor I have ever worked with, and I have worked with a lot of them. Her comprehensive approach in testing and treating over the last year has been a life changer for me. I have never felt better, and my health has dramatically improved since we started working together. I have gone from barely functioning to being back in the gym, exercising every day and now running with my kids. Her knowledge, expertise and access to specialized testing and utilization of regular bloodwork has been so helpful to understand what is happening, to identify issues and to fix and optimize the issues and different levels as needed. While working with a functional medicine/naturopathic doctor is not covered by insurance, the majority of my bloodwork has been covered, and she has done well to help that.
